Hulton Development is in the business of building sophisticated structures that allow us to demonstrate our ability to integrate our design and construction skills. We have developed proven systems for building, from the office to the field, to facilitate project safety, efficiency and quality. A state-of-the-art web-based management system allows the entire team to collaborate and maintain the highest level of communication, to ensure company and client goals are met.

Exceeding client expectations by offering great quality and great value is what we are all about. We deliver projects on time and on budget, with a level of professionalism and commitment that is rare in the construction field.

Our President

Thomas R. Hulton Erickson, founder and president of Hulton Development, has over 28 years of experience in the residential construction industry. Prior to forming the company, he served as president of Luca Properties in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., which built prestigious properties from 3,000 to 20,000 square feet throughout the U.S., with construction costs ranging from $2 million to $30 million.

Thomas' previous experience includes serving as vice president of construction for Palm Springs Modern Homes in Palm Desert, Calif.; senior project manager for Charter Construction in Seattle; president of Hulton Homes in Silverdale, Wash.; and vice president of Erickson Custom Homes in Silverdale, Wash. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Idaho and completed small business management courses at Olympic College.

Prior to that, Thomas worked in his family’s construction business from the time he was 11 years old, as his father did for his father’s construction company. He started out as a laborer and worked through most of the trades to where he is today.


A sample of Thomas' completed projects includes:

  • - Completing construction of a 30,000-square-foot estate in Rancho Santa Fe, after three other builders started the project, so the owners could move in.
  • - Construction of a 20,000-square-foot guest facility and development of a full-service equestrian facility in Rancho Santa Fe
  • - Restoration of a 2,500-square-foot penthouse in San Francisco
  • - Coordination of the design-build team that developed plans to renovate 10,000 square feet at the Ritz Carlton in New York
  • - Coordination of the design-build team for a remodel of an existing vacation home and the development of a 10,000-square-foot vacation estate in Maui
